MATTHEW

Chapter 2:

1: Jesus was born during the reign of King Herod. the three wise men didn't care and had a purpose to go and meet the new born baby Jesus.
2: Asking where the new king of Jerusalem was, very straight forward, having one purpose to go and meet the new king, Jesus.
3: Everyone in Jerusalem was disturbed by the three men who came asking where the new born baby was.
4: Even though King Herod was disturbed, he helped them out in opening a meeting to find where the baby was.
7: Herod had another meeting with just the three wise men. "and he learned from them the time when the star first appeared"??--> what does that mean?
8: He believes in the new to be king of Jerusalem and asked the three wise men to find the baby and to come back and tell him where he is so he can worship Jesus too.
9: Like what the wise men were told, they followed the star and were stopped where the baby was born.
10: They were filled with joy when they saw the star. this shows how much they wanted to see and worship the new born baby, the new king. even though he is only a baby at the moment, these three wise men are so happy and filled with joy to see him and to worship him.
11-12: Once they worshiped the new born baby with his mother Mary, they gave him gifts and went back to their own country and not to Herod as God told them not to in a dream. Even though Herod wanted to know where the new born was and wanted to go worship him, God's choice for the wise men were to not go back to him to tell him for a reason. and they obeyed God.
